The legality of marijuana has changed over the years, when you look at the United States as a whole. It used to be that it was federally illegal and illegal in every state. But today, there are many states that have legalized the recreational use of marijuana products. Consumers who are 21 and older can simply buy these products at the store.
That said, Arkansas is not one of those states. Recreational use of marijuana is still legally prohibited. This means that you cannot buy it in Arkansas, as there are no licensed dispensaries.
But what if you drive to another state where marijuana has already been legalized? Can you make a purchase there and return to Arkansas with your products?

This would be illegal for two reasons. The first, as noted above, is that Arkansas still has not legalized marijuana for recreational use. The authorities are not going to care if you went to another state and made a legal purchase at a dispensary. That is fine as long as you are in the other state, but as soon as you return to Arkansas, you are bound by the local laws, which you would be violating by possessing these products.
The second issue is that the federal laws on marijuana have not changed, and it is still prohibited. For this reason, even though states can sell recreational products, consumers cannot take them across state lines. Doing so makes it a federal offense. So transporting marijuana back to Arkansas is also federally illegal.
